This year Bill Hanson and his crew banded two eagles from the nest across the lake from camp. We had several families in camp at the time and even our grand-daughter, Loralie was visiting so she was able to hold the banded chick.
It seems like it rained the entire month of June and July has not been much drier. Our front lawn and parking area is non-existent as we are currently experiencing water levels that are typical in early spring with snow melt. On the up side of all this rain, the fishing has been terrific so no complaints from the fishermen (except the man eating bugs).
We have beautiful sunshine today just in time for all our summer families to start arriving for their annual vacations.

Any Deer Permits - 2013 Season
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries has determined that 80 "Any Deer Permits" will be awarded for Wildlife Management District #7 for the 2013 Deer Season. 20 of these permits will be available to landowners only but the other 60 will be determined by lottery. For more information you can visit the IF&W's website at http://www.maine.gov/ifw/licenses_permits/lotteries/anydeer/index.htm#permitallocations
Online applications for the drawing must be completed by August 15th so do not delay!
We still have some available lodging for the 2013 Deer Season so if you are considering a hunt this year, please give us call soon.

Yes this picture is accurate. Yes, it's still raining and yes, the extended forecast is about the same. I've heard rumors the extended forecast may have a day or two of sunshine so we'll see. No matter, the fishing action on the lake has been great and although some areas in the upper river have seen some high water, conditions change quickly and the fish are biting.
Now that the kids are getting out of school it's time to plan that summer get away. We do have some limited availability for our Summer Rate Special beginning on July 1st and running through the 18th of August. Check your calendar and give me a call.

Memorial Day
Saturday, May 18, 2013
We welcomed our third grandchild, Michael Brennan Chase on Wednesday, May 15th @ 12:18PM. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 15 oz, and 21 inches tall. Everyone is happy and healthy and we can't wait to meet him.
Fishing here at camp has been great both on the lake and in the streams. I had one report from the lake yesterday that they caught 7 fish in 30 minutes. The wind has been strong and cold so the fishermen are bundled up, but all having a great time.
Mike will be cooking a couple fresh caught fish this morning for guests who just couldn't resist breakfast from the lake. Nothing like salmon and eggs to start the day.
Sunday, May 12, 2013
We opened our 2013 Spring fishing season on Friday and the fishermen are arriving daily. Much to our relief, we even received some much needed rain overnight and a little more today. Hope it didn't spoil any Mother's Day plans. Mike will be cooking a couple of fresh fish in the morning that we caught this afternoon.
We also welcomed two new employees, Julie & Kevin to the Bosebuck team.
