Our first three sleds arrived today via ITS 84 from Oquossoc (I'm not counting the 5 sleds that came through on Monday afternoon and rode across the lake - HELLO, NOT safe on lakes yet!).

They filled their bellies with Mountain Burgers, fries and Grilled Chicken Sandwich with onion rings. After an enjoyable lunch, they topped off their sleds with fuel and headed for home. Their trail report was very positive. Just a few wet spots, but in really good condition.

It's still snowing here and we have about 15-18 inches on the ground. Let's hope these early season conditions take hold and we build a good base for a great 2014/2015 season.

Mike and John are out in Bosebuck Mountain Rider's groomer as I write this post, packing the trail and putting up signs. All trails should be ready for the upcoming weekend.

The calendar may indicate that its still Fall, but winter has definitely arrived here at Bosebuck Mountain Camps. We have four inches of snow on the ground and its still snowing this morning. The lake is nearly frozen all the way across and hopefully the temps will remain cold.

Congratulations Bill!  He took this moose this morning about an hour into the season.  It took four guys and four hours to get him into the trailer but they are on their way now to the registration station and onto the butcher.

Opening Day of the 2014 Bear Hunting Season.

Also, since the Fall fishermen will soon be invading camp, our breakfast hours have been changed to accommodate their need to get on the water early in the day.  We will be now serving Breakfast from 6:00AM to 8:00AM until the deer hunters arrive.  Of course they like to eat when it's still dark under the table so we'll put the coffee on even earlier for them when they arrive in November.

First of all - Happy Father's Day

Secondly, just wanted to let you all know that due to the very cold, and what seemed like a never ending winter followed by a spring that didn't have much sun, the fishing season has just now started to really come on.  The recent rain has increased water levels in the rivers and the salmon are taking full advantage.  The lake fishing has been, and continues to be fantastic.

We do have some limited availability from now to the end of the month.  So if you are looking to sneak in a quick trip to wet a line, give me a call.

The docks are in and we have open water here in front of camp but the entire lake is NOT free of ice just yet. Parmachenee Road is open and fairly dry but several culverts have dropped so it's slow travel. Plan on an hour to reach camp. You will need a vehicle with ground clearance, but 4 wheel drive is not necessary.

We are now open and our first fishermen will be arriving any time now. Time to wet a line!

Just a friendly reminder for people to be aware of moose and deer in the trails.  The deep snow has really pushed them out onto the trails.  Best thing is just to give them some space and in most cases they'll go off on their own.  Those critters are having a hard enough winter and certainly don't need to be pushed by impatient snowmobilers.
