I know it's "Black Friday" and many of you are out in the middle of a shopping frenzy, so I'm posting this picture from the webcam taken at 7:46AM this morning. As you can see, the lake has iced over and is now covered in fresh snow.

Now before you get to excited, it's NOT safe and no you can't sled yet. This is just a taste of what is coming. and just like Christmas, it will be here sooner than you think!

Now that's the way to end a day of hunting. Congratulations to Chris and Tom who returned to camp yesterday thankful to have completed a successful day in the woods. The stories were told and all listened intently to be sure every detail was revealed. When guests arose this morning to find light snow falling, temps in the low 20's and yesterday's success still fresh on their mind, it didn't take long for them to eat and head to the woods eager to return with their own trophy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends. The turkey is in the oven and the pies are done. Now I just have to finish up all those side dishes for dinner at 6PM. I'm sure our lodging guests will have worked up a good appetite today after tracking in this cold, snow covered territory.

Mike has finally completed the new snowmobile trial from NH20 & ITS 84 into Bosebuck so sleds will not have to share Parmachenee Road this winter with the trucks. YEAH!! So of course with only three days left of the firearms deer season, he took to the woods right after breakfast this morning. He'll be tired, but very happy when he returns to camp late this afternoon.

Congratulations to one of our lodging guests, Bill, who tagged this 172 pound, 6 point buck on the 13th. We have 14 hunters in camp this week and they were all very excited to awake to snow on the ground this morning. It's not much, but enough to follow a track. We have spitting snow still falling with a current temperature of 26 degrees. If the forecast is correct, we may receive a couple more inches of snow overnight into tomorrow.

Don't forget Christmas is quickly approaching and a Bosebuck gift certificate is the perfect fit for the outdoor enthusiast on your list. No need to worry about the color or size and you can choose the amount to keep within your budget. Just give me a call and we can take care of it right over the phone. No need to fight the traffic.

A big THANK YOU to all our veteran's and active duty military personnel for your service. We know that freedom doesn't come free and for some it costs the ultimate price.

We started the day here at Bosebuck Mountain Camps with ice on the lake and temps in the low 20's. As I write this post, the sun has risen on what appears to be a beautiful day ahead with a current temperature of 27. The forecast is calling for temps in the mid to high 40's which doesn't bode well for the deer hunters who are all hoping for more snow to track in. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the white stuff to arrive and stay on the ground.

We have now registered eight deer this year with the biggest weighing in at 259 pounds. He was a monster with a nice 8 point rack. Although we have lots of cabins rented for the remainder of the season, we still have a few openings here and there so give us a call and we'll try to accommodate your request.

It was a frosty morning here at Bosebuck Mountain Camps with a low of 21 degrees. We have been fogged in for most of the morning but now that the sun has warmed the atmosphere the fog has lifted to reveal the view across the lake. As you can see, all the trees are covered in ice and soon the lake will be frozen too.

Bosebuck Mountain Camps is a State of Maine Game Registration station for turkey (yes, we really do have turkeys this far north), bear and deer open daily from 7AM to 7PM for tagging. Since opening day, I have registered four deer, all bucks of course, ranging in size from 119 to 146 lbs and all taken in Lynchtown. Where are you hunting this year? Why not Bosebuck? It's not too late to call and reserve your cabin, the season has just begun.
