They're back! The bald eagles, the loons and even the pair of Canada geese that think our front lawn is their personal toilet facilities. I guess the webcams don't bother them one bit. If the water keeps rising at the current pace, I won't need to worry about geese on the lawn because there won't be any.
Yes, the ice is gone from this end of the lake but the lower end still has some ice in certain areas. Nights have continued to be cold with sunny but cooler days so the water temperature has not risen. Also, the influx of snow melt and water from the upper rivers has contributed to the cold water temps. Believe it or not the extended weather forecast for this weekend is calling for accumulating snow Friday night and perhaps into Saturday. Good thing we haven't put the shovels away yet. Don't worry, if it arrives, it won't last long. Fishing season is just around the corner.
Speaking of fishing, call soon to secure your cabin for spring fishing. With warm temps south of here reservations are filling very quickly this year. Also, if you are contemplating a summer vacation at Bosebuck, please call ASAP as many weeks are already completely booked.
